HomeMy WebLinkAbout2014-09-11-YC-min TownofLexington LexingtonYouthCommission MinutesofthemeetingheldonThursday,September11 th,2014attheLexingtonDPW MembersPresent:DebbieHankins,DougLucente,ShannonDeGuglielmo,KarenDuprey,Joe Hankins,JanelleFranklin,VanessaSavage,MarkSolomon,AndreaMichelson,JamesLaurenzi, ChristopherGrant,BenLeibskind,GillianGoolkasian,ElizabethCoons,JohnMullen,Thomas Barry,BeccaDennings,IliseMartel,ShaunMcLaughlin,AshleyWalsh,LeeKatz,Andrew Thomas,RyanBuschini,AveryGehring,WillThomas,CourtneyWalsh,RachaelMichelson,John Lahiff,andJoeLahiff MembersAbsent:SeanMaloney,AnnieDouvas,EmmaBerman,andNicFusco 1.AnorientationwasheldforthenewmembersofLexingtonYouthCommission,where theguidelinesandrulesweregivenout,aswellasamissionstatement. 2.TheadultadvisorsalsovotedforthenewChairman.ThenewChairmanisDebbie Hankins,whosucceedsthepositionfromDougLucente.Alladvisorswerepresentto voteexceptSeanMaloney. 3.AllpresentmembersfilledoutandreturnedaSURVEY,i.e.,timesavailable,licensed driversforevents,etc.Thiswillhelpuswithschedulingandplanning. 4.Thenewattendancepolicywasdiscussed.Thispolicynowhasteamcaptainscalltheir memberstwodayspriortoaneventormeetingservingasareminderand team confirmationofupcomingmeeting/event.CommunityServicehourswillcontinueto followLexingtonHighSchoolguidelines,itistheLYCƒĻƒĬĻƩ͸ƭresponsibility. 5.Membersvotedonateeshirtdesignforthe2014/2015year;concludingwithadesign oftheMinutemanStatueinthemiddleandwritingaroundit. 6.AdatewassetforFallcleaninguptheLYCIsland.ThisdateisThursday,September18 th, 2014from5:30to6:30.Thememberswillplantandmaintaintheshrubberyandplants ontheIslandaswellasweed,andclean.Memberswhosignedupare:Ashley,Ilise, Chris,Andrew,Elizabeth,Becca,Ryan,Ben,Lee,John,Joe,Avery,Courtney,Andrea, Janelle,Vanessa,andMark.Ifanythingchangespleasecontactyourteamcaptain.Karen Dupreyistheadultadvisorforthisservice. 7.ThedecoratingofstoresinthecenterforHalloweenwilltakeplaceonOctober31 st, 2014.Memberswillputballoonsinfrontofstoreswhoareparticipatinginthetrickor treatingintheCenteroftown.FurtherdiscussionwillbeheldduringhĭƷƚĬĻƩ͸ƭmeeting. 8.TheFoodPantryCandyDrivewasdiscussedandthemembersconcludedonselling40 candybarseachat$1,consistingofSwedishFish,Skittles,Starbursts,Twix,andKitKats. Bagswillbehandedoutatthenextmeeting.Weareaimingtocontributeovera $1000.00tothefoodpantryinNovember.LYCBoardmemebers,andteamcaptainwill arriveat6:30pm,October9 th inordertofillcandybagstohavereadyformembers. 9.MembersalsofilledoutCORIforms,andacopyofaphotoID.Anyonewhodidnot completethisprocess,orwasnotpresentmustgotoLexingtonTownHall,Human ResourceswithaphotoID,andcompletedCORIpaperworkassoonaspossible.CORI applicationsareavailabletoTownHall.
