1.Additional Changes to Lexpress Route 1 and finalization of FY15 Routes
Public comment has been received by Ms. Rebecchi since the previous version of
the FY15 Lexpress Routes was issued. Of the 112 residents providing feedback,
36 wanted Route 1 to remain unchanged and 51 wanted service provided to
Arlington Heights and Lex Farm.
In order to accommodate both requests (i.e. not eliminate coverage of the Peacock
Farm area and extend the route to Arlington), Ms. Rebecchi has proposed to have
Route 1 cover both parts of the route and not stop at the Community Center.
Community Center service is provided by Route 2. Route 1 will still pass by the
Community Center and stop there on request. (After the Center opens next spring,
the Lexpress service to the Center will be revisited for FY16.)
In order to help with route planning for FY16, ridership for the various parts of
Route 1 will be tracked more closely during FY15.
Ms. Rebecchi has already discussed this proposal with Mr. Valente and obtained
his agreement.
Ms. Spiker (Peacock Farm resident) attended the meeting to express her concern
about losing Lexpress service.
The Committee unanimously adopted the following statement about the proposed
route changes:
“We recommend that the change to Route 1 (including all of the previous route plus
adding the Arlington Heights loop and postponing addition of a stop at the
Community Center until FY16) be incorporated into the plan to be presented for
approval by the Board of Selectmen (Version 3, May 2014).”
Presentation of the plan by Ms. Rebecchi to the Board of Selectmen is scheduled
