COMPTROLLER SELECTION PROCESS
Step 1: Board of Selectmen proposes a search committee for Finance Director/Comptroller
position.
Potential membership for Search Committee:
Leo McSweeney – Chair, Selectmen
Deborah Brown – Chair, Appropriations
George Burnell – Capital
Susan Bottan – School Business Manager
School Committee Representative
Marge Battin – Moderator
Bill Dailey – Former Selectman
Hank Manz – TMMA
Norman Cohen – citizen
Anthony Logalbo – Concord Finance Director
Paul Marshall – Former Selectman
Janet Perry – Personnel Advisory Board
William Kennedy - Selectman
Step 2: Search Committee will work with a Peer Panel, made up of members of the Senior
Management Team and Department Heads in Finance, to discuss search process and
skill set/qualifications for Finance Director/Comptroller position and bring skill
set/qualification to Board to vote on.
Step 3: Search Committee will report to BOS after potential process.
Step 4: Position will be advertised via newspapers, newsletters, websites, and direct mailings
as well as other outreach methods: possible sources for advertisements.

Step 5: Search Committee to select 3-5 finalists to be interviewed by BOS.
Step 6: BOS to interview finalist, check references, and select candidate.
