SEPARATE CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS ARE INCLUDED WITH THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. THESE STANDARD CONTRACT DRAWINGS ARE NOT COMPLETE WITHOUT THESE SPECIFICATIONS. 7. SINCE MOST OF THE WORK WILL BE IN PREVIOUSLY EXCAVATED TRENCHES, NO BORINGS WERE TAKEN. KNOWN SUBSURFACE CONDITIONS ARE INDICATED ON THESE DRAWINGS. 8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONFINE HIS OPERATIONS AND ACTIVITIES FOR CONSTRUCTION PURPOSES WITHIN STREET LINES, EASEMENTS, AND RIGHTS OF WAY AS SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS. TRENCHES FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF SEWER SERVICES SHALL PROCEED ONLY AS FAR ACROSS PRIVATE PROPERTY AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS SHALL BE CONDUCTED SUCH THAT, WHERE POSSIBLE, ONE LANE OF TRAFFIC REMAINS OPEN AT ALL TIMES ON TRAVELLED WAYS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE CONSTRUCTION, TRAFFIC CONTROL, AND DETOURS WITH THE LEXINGTON POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS TO MINIMIZE OBSTRUCTION OF TRAFFIC, ALL SUITABLE EXCAVATED MATERIAL IN STREETS SHALL BE HAULED AWAY AND STORED IN AREAS AS DIRECTED B THE ENGINEER UNTIL IT CAN BE USED FOR BACKFILL, SHOULD IT BECOME NECESSARY TO CLOSE THE ROADWAY TO THROUGH TRAFFIC, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL GIVE AT LEAST ONE (1) WEEK NOTICE TO THE ENGINEER, SO THAT AN ALTERNATE THROUGH ROUTE CAN BE ESTABLISHED. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE DETOUR SIGNS ALONG THE ALTERNATE THROUGH ROUTE, AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. 9. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTE THAT THERE MAY BE CONFLICTS WITH EXISTING GAS AND UNDERGROUND ELECTRIC POWER LINES, AND THAT HE SHALL COORDINATE ALL WORK WITH THE APPROPRIATE UTILITY, 10. DAMAGE TO ANY UTILITY WILL BE REPAIRED BY THE CONTRACTOR, AT THE CONTPACTOR'S EXPENSE, IN A TIMELY MANNER SO THAT DISRUPTION OF SERVICE OF ANY UTILITY WILL NOT BE LONGER THAN TWO HOURS OR PRACTICALLY NECESSARY TO REPAIR THE DAMAGE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE REPAIR WORK WITH THE APPROPRIATE UTILITY COMPANY OR THE TOWN, 11.
