All proposed planting locations shall be staked carefully as shown on the plan. Contractor shall verify locations of all utilities prior to planting and notify design engineer and landscape architect of any conflicts. MATURE HGT.& SPRD. 2. No planting materials shall be installed until all grading and on -site construction has been completed in the immediate area. FLOWERING COLOR 3. 2 inch deep shredded pine bark shall be installed under all trees and shrubs, and in all planting beds, as shown on the plans or as directed by the landscape architect. 3 -3.5" 4. All trees shall be balled and burlapped. PRAIRIEFIRE FLOWERING CRABTREE .5. Final quantity for each plant type shall be as shown on the plans. This number shall take precedence in case of any discrepancy between quantities shown on the planting schedule and those on the plans. APR -MAY 6. Any proposed plant substitutions must be approved in writing by the landscape architect. 3 7. All plant materials installed shall meet or exceed the specifications of the "American Standards for Nursery Stock" by the American Association of Nuserymen. 25'H/18'S 8. All plant material shall be guaranteed for one year following date of final acceptance. PINK 9. Existing trees to remain shall be protected during construction by the placement of a 4' high orange safety fence around the tree at a distance of at least 5' in any direction from the outer trunk. The fence sholled be installed prior to any construction on site and shall be maintained through completion. SEA GREEN SPR. JUNIPER 10. Existing soil shall not be used for any landscape plantings. Properly remove all existing soil in its entirety. MOD /FAST 11. The plant rootball shall rest on the pit bottom. Do not mound up for new planting soil mix. EVERGREEN 12. Fertilizer should be restricted during the first year for possible root bum. Nursery applications are generally adequate for the 1st planting season. 13. Maximum mulch depth for Rhododendrons and Cherry/Crab trees shall be 1-1/2'. RHODODENDRON 'BOULE de NEIGE' 14. Coordinate with the owner or contractor for watering. If unavailable, provide 20 gallons per tree per day and 10 gallons per shrub per day. 15. The landscape architect shall solely judge the quality of the plant material and reserves the right of rejection. Rejected plants shall be removed from the site immediately and replaced with approved substitutions as directed by the architect. WHITE 16. Any plant installation scheduled between June 21 & Sept. 1st shall obtain approval from the architect prior to installation. Plants not accepted for approval are to be removed at no cost to the owner. 24 " -30 "HGT. 17, All disturbed' non -paved areas shall receive 2" of shredded bark mulch. BOURSAULT RHODODENDRON 18. Existing trees to be removed from the site shall be subject to the Town of Lexington Bylaw Chapter 120 'Trees ". Protected trees are any tree with a DBH of 6 inches or greater, located in the setback area. MAY 19.
