PLANTING NOTES:
1. EXISTING 40" MAPLE TO BE PROTECTED DURING CONSTRUCTION. CAREFULLY REMOVE EXISTING FILL
WITHIN DRIP LINE OF THE TREE. NO CUTTING OR FILLING OF EARTH SHALL BE PERF05318D WITHIN THE
DRIP LINE OF THE CANOPY AND NO CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT SHALL BE USED WITHIN THE DRIP LINE TO
AVOID COMPACTION OF SOILS AT THE ROOT SYSTEM. FINAL LOAM 4 SEED WITHIN THE DRIP LINE SHALL
BE PERFOFMD BY .HAND ONLY. PROVIDE 3" DEPTH OF PINE BARK MULCH IN A 10' DIAMETER CIRCLE
AROUND THE BASE OF THE TREE.
2. ALL PLANT MATERIAL SHALL CONFORM TO THE MINIMUM GUIDELINES ESTABLISHED BY THE AMERICAN
STANDARD FOR NURSERY STOCK PUBLISHED BY THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF NURSERYMEN, INC.
3. ANY PROPOSED SUBSTITUTIONS OF PLANT MATERIAL SHALL BE EQUIVALENT TO THE SPECIFIED
MATERIAL IN OVERALL FORM, HEIGHT, BRANCHING HABIT, FLOWER, LEAF, COLOR, FRUIT AND CULTURE.
PROPOSED SUBSTITUTIONS WILL ONLY BE CONSIDERED IF SUBMITTED WITH ENUMERATED REASONS WHY
SUBSTITUTIONS ARE PROPOSED.
4. PRIOR TO PLANTING, PLANTS WILL ME INSPECTED BY THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT. THE LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT SHALL RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ACCEPTANCE OF PLANTS UPON DELIVERY BASED ON
PLANT VIGOR/CONDITION, UNAUTHORIZED SUBSTITUTIONS, AND /OR NONCONFORMANCE WITH THE PLANTING
PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
5. WARRANTY PLANT MATERIAL TO REMAIN ALIVE AND BE IN HEALTHY, VIGOROUS CONDITION FOR A
PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR AFTER ACCEPTANCE BY THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT .
6. PLANT MATERIAL 16 TO BE MAINTAINED BY THE LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR WHILE THE PROJECT IS
UNDERWAY.
-1. ALL PLANTING BEDS TO BE FILLED WITH SOIL AND CROWNED ABOVE ADJACENT LAWN OR IMPROVED
AREAS. ALL PLANTING BEDS TO 13E MULCHED WITH AGED PINE BANG MULCH TO A DEPTH OF THREE (3)
INCHES.
8. CAUTION SHALL 5E USED NOT TO EXTEND MULCH LAYER ABOVE SOIL LEVEL AT TRUNKS /STEMS OF
INSTALLED PLANT MATERIAL.
S. 'PROVIDE FIVE (5) FOOT DIAMETER MULCH CIRCLE AROUND ALL INDIVIDUAL TREE PLANTINGS AND
CONTINOUS MULCH BED AROUND SHRUB PLANTINGS.
10. VERIFY ALL EXISTING UTILITY LINES PRIOR TO PLANTING AND REPORT ANY CONFLICTS TO THE
OWNER OR HIS REPRESENTATIVE.
11, NO PLANT SHALL BE PLANTED BEFORE ACCEPTANCE OF ROUGH GRADING.
12. PROVIDE 6" LOAM AND SEED ALL DISTURBED AREAS UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED.
13. THE LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH TOPSOIL. TOPSOIL SHALL 13E FERTILE, FRIABLE,
NATURAL AND PRODUCTIVE TOPSOIL OF GOOD CLAY -LOAM TYPE. IT SHALL BE FREE OF WEED SEEDS.
TOPSOIL SHALL BE WITHOUT ADMIXTURE OF SU5SOIL AND SHALL BE REASONASLY FREE OF STONES,
LUMPS, ROOTS, STICKS AND OTHER FOREIGN MATTER. TOPSOIL SHALL NOT BE WORKED OR APPLIED IN
A MUDDY OR FROZEN CONDITION.
14, TOPSOIL SHALL BE SPREAD TO A MINIMUM DEPTH OF SIX (Fi) INCHES AFTER SETTLING ON ALL
STRIPPED PLANTED AREAS INCLUDING SLOPE STABALIZATION, LAWN AREAS AND PLANTING BEDS
AFTER FILLS ARE PROPERLY SETTLED AND SUBGRADE HAS BEEN APPROVED.
15. REMOVE ALL ROCKS AND DEBRIS FROM SOIL SURFACE AND GRADE TO AN EVEN SURFACE.
ib. IF CERTAIN OF THE LAWN AREAS DO NOT SHOW A PROMPT 'CATCH', THESE SHALL BE RESEEDED AT
THE SAME RATE AND IN THE SAME MANNER AS BEFORE, UNTIL A GROWTH OF GRASS 1S ESTABLISHED
