PLANTING NOTES
1. DELIVERY IN CLOSED TRUCKS: All plant materials in leaf
shall be covered with torps to prevent drying of the leaves.
2. PLANT PITS shall be THREE ROOM BALL DIME TERS IN
WIDTH and no deeper than the plant ball. Set root flair 2"
above adjacent finished grade.
3. WATER— HOLDING SAUCER shall be built up around the
plant pit. Flood with water for five (5) minutes immediately
after planting.
4. WATER PLANTS once a day for the first week and once
a week for the first planting season. Water at the rate of
five (5) gallons per shrub and ten ',10) gallons per tree,
5. MULCH With three (3 ") inches of shredded bark mulch.
Cut neat bed edge and fully remove all grass and weeds
prior to mulch application_ DO NOT MULCH AGAINST TRUNKS
AND STEMS OF PLANT MATERIALS.
6. ALL AREAS disturbed during construction are to be
loomed and either seeded or mulched as directed by the
owner.
7. CONFORM ALL PLANT MATERIALS to 'American Association
of Nurseryman Standard for Nursery Stock' ANSI 260
1- 1990. Any substitutions made doe to season or
availability shall be of equal size and value and shall be
approved by the Landscape Architect.
8. CONFORM ALL PLANTING AND SO'L SPECIFICATIONS to
Massachussetts Highway Department: 'Standard Specifications
for Highways and Bridges' latest edition. Guarantee plants
for one full year after acceptance;.
9. IRRIGATION: The Owner shall determine scope with an
installer. There shall be at least one exterior hose bib
located between each building entrance. Provide sleeves
under walks and drives for irrigation! lines and controls.
10. MANAGEMENT: The owner shall work with the Landscape
Contractor to establish a maintenance program for all
planting and irrigation systems.
