The Arlington Conservation Administrator would like help from Lexington in removing water chestnuts from the Reservoir in return for ACROSS signs going in on Arlington property. Regarding ACROSS signage, the Arlington Conservation Commission is leaning toward approval, and will send along their decision and recommendations to the Arlington Board of Selectmen._Rick showed a couple of options for alternate ACROSS logo signs-"in partnership with Arlington" (option 2)was the unanimous favorite.Rick will forward that version to Karen Mullins who will pass this on to the Arlington Conservation Commission. Arlington may wish to put up signs indicating entrance to Arlington property. Rick will report on progress at May GCC meeting. Golden Age Living Center parking In a quick search Karen Mullins has found no formal agreement between Town and Golden Age Center allowing access to abutting Conservation Land.Eileen volunteered to help Karen by going through Town records. Orchard Lane, which is the alternate access, has no good parking. We need to finalize arrangements with Arlington to finish up C route, which gives us some time to work on parking issue. Routes A&B printed maps:Rick passed out maps of ACROSS Routes A&B.Started w/500, printing more.Maps are currently in Visitors Center,Cary Library,Inn at Hastings Park,Ride Cafe, other places. For the next iteration,Damian Strohmeyer will do a new cover photo. Rick would like to see the Town/ACROSS website offer paper maps to be mailed upon request, adding names to database. Route A signs update:Bob will follow up. New Business: New GCC member:Aaron Ladd has resigned from committee,so we need a replacement.Would be nice to have a younger member, though not a requirement.Suggestions? Discovery Day table:Will share space with another organization. FY 2015/16 Town financial goal setting We have CPA funds for the next two years so will not need to consider participating in the Town's financial goal setting process this year. Town of Lexington Open Space&Recreation Plan:Necessary to update with State every five years. GCC should have place at table, report and advocate for open space, recreational use. Eileen and Alex indicated that they would be willing to consider representing GCC. Middlesex Greenway Coalition:advocate for preservation of Burlington Canyon-discuss at next meeting. Big Picture Planning for GCC:We will plan a special GCC meeting to discuss future route plans, the West Lexington Greenway, and to focus on specific future goals.Date&time to be offered in doodle poll.
