The structure is changed from 2 separate structures to one connecting structure. It will be a colonial style house with a barnlike structure in the back. The foundation may be from the original structure. The Commission is concerned that the garage section will look out of place. Historical precedent would be just the railings and no corner walls. The Commission recommended adding a window to the garage, and some changes to the placement of windows on the house. Drawings of the windows and doors will be brought in at a later time. An abutting neighbor had some concerns about the plot line and existing foliage and the easement at the foot of the driveway. They also questions whether the deck above the garage would align with their garage. Mr. Oldenburg told the neighbor what the interior would be like. The neighbor from across the street questions what would prevent changes once the plans were approved. It was explained that the Building Department was required to do inspections as the project moves along. The Commission approved the demolition of the existing structure and replacement with proposed structure. This is continued to the February HDC Meeting. CONTINUED HEARINGS 19 Muzzey Street: Jeffrey Lyons did not appear 1099 Massachusetts Avenue: Beverly Seaver, presented a change in the original plan. They took down the porch and found some wonderful framing behind it. They will leave the framing and not replace the front porch. They will also keep the porch on the Maple Street side of the home. All in favor of the changes INFORMAL HEARINGS Hastings Park Gazebo: Colin Smith, presented plans to make the Gazebo handicap accessible. They are proposing Option C of the plans. This will require re-grading the area around the gazebo and modifying the railing. There will be repairs to the railing and columns. The Gazebo will be repainted in kind and the Plaque will be relocated. OTHER BUSINESS Minutes approved as written
