A quorum of four was present. Members Present: Mark Sandeen, Chair Rick Abrams, Todd Rhodes, Sarah Wilson Members Absent: Rick Reibstein, Sheryl Rosner, Dan Voss Other Attendees: Joe Pato The meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm. The minutes from the September 2013 meeting were approved. Better Buildings - Residential Next Step Living (NSL) is planning to have a table at flu shot clinics in town. Mr. Rhodes will follow up with Leslie Zales regarding NSLÈs plans for a PTA fundraiser. Better Buildings - Commercial Mr. Rhodes will follow up with NSTAR to get an update on the results of the effort to promote the Mass Save Commercial Program to small businesses in Lexington. (Note: 800 letters were sent to town businesses). Municipal Aggregation Mr. Sandeen reported on the meeting he attended that addressed municipal aggregation of electrify in Massachusetts. The program focused on the municipal aggregation in Lunenburg and the Cape Light Compact. Mr. Sandeen learned that in both cases, the purchasers selected suppliers of electricity from less-Green sources. This result suggests that a program using municipal aggregation to support GHG reduction would need to include requirements for the mix of energy sources to ensure that GHG emissions are not worsened through aggregation. Also, it did not appear that the towns involved have saved their residents much money. Letters Regarding Anaerobic Digester and PACE The committee reviewed draft letters regarding the Anaerobic Digester project and PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) program. The committee unanimously agreed to send the letters to the Selectmen following the addition of edits discussed at the meeting. Mr. Sandeen will send the letter regarding the PACE program to the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) for review, and then will send the final version to the Selectmen.
