Membershipandrecruitmentupdate.Kim/ƚĬǒƩƓƭandLorainağƩƨǒźƭƭapplications
havebeenapproved.LindaDixonreportsthatrecruitmentisgoingwell,atotalofsix
applicationshavebeenapprovedandoneisstillpending.Lindaiscontactingothers
whomaybeinterestedinjoiningus.

Theparadesteppedoffontime.

Therewasaglitchinthelineupwhenthewreathbearerswereplacedbehind

thechiefmarshalinsteadofhavingthemfollowthehonorguard.
Itwasnotedthattherewasanaboveaverageturnoutofboyscoutsandagood

representationofgirlscouts.

Setupwentwell,thoughchairarrangementforthebandhadtoberearranged.

Aflagstandwasneededcausingabriefstartingdelay.Thepodiumusedwasnot

sturdy;thelargeronewouldhavebeenpreferred.
Itwasdifficulttohearthespeaker,possiblybecausethemicrophonewasnot
o
closeenoughtohim.
Thereappearedtobeanumberofemptyseats.

Itwasnoticedthatanumberofscoutsdidnotstayfortheentireprogram.

Perhapsitwouldbehelpfultoclarifythecommitmentbyindicatinghowlong
theprogramisexpectedtolast.Suziesuggestedthathavingthescouts
participateintheceremonymightencouragethemtostayfortheduration.
Mostoftheceremonywasvideotaped.SinceColaĭ\[ğǒŭŷƌźƓƭfathercouldnot

attend,Suzieplanstosendhimacopy.CoachesBobFariasandBillTighewere
invitedanddidattendtheceremony,whichwasanicesurpriseforthecolonel.
Inspiteofourguestspeakerandhisamazingspeech,itwasthoughtthatthe

programcouldhavebeenalittlelonger,withmorecontent.
Overall,itwasagoodmorningandthecommitteereceivedpositivefeedback.

SuziegaveaverythoroughrecapoftheķğǤƭeventsfornewmembers(includingbudget
details,explainingthatallthreeparadesarebudgetedseparately)andreportedthat
heightenedsecurityisbeingplannedaroundtownthisyearresultingfromlastǤĻğƩƭevent
inBoston.
SuziewillbegintogathertheweekendĻǝĻƓƷƭinformationfromeachoftheparticipating
groupsinordertoputtogetherthebrochure.
