Gail Updates
Community center task force survey is now open until 6/30. There are many distribution points from
which to access this online survey. Hundreds of responses have been logged to date. The CCTF will share
a table at Discovery Day with the Human Services Dept.
Emily Updates (HSD)
Fuel Assistance numbers this season: 60 families under 60 yrs /age, 35 over 60 yrs /age. Food Pantry
needs are consistent.
The Veterans Service Office (VSO) is holding meet /greets.
Financial Need requests are few -- a couple for NStar bills and mortgage payments.
Looking into MFinder personal locator technology for wanderers; trialing a financial subsidy program.
Charlotte Updates (HSD)
Laurie Henry starting an at -risk girls group at LHS.
Muzzey building improvement approved at this year's Town Meeting.
Ryan Lennon is the new VSO; he's an Iraq vet with a Bronze Star. There are 1200 registered veterans in
Lexington.
Cary Johnston has resigned; her position as Asst. Dir Sr. Services has been posted.
Transportation services -- LexConnect taxi program is up and running; 10 coupon bks have been sold.
Approx. 130 FlexPasses used last year.
Future Plans/ Goal- Setting
Next year agenda ideas: substance abuse (invite Julie Fenn), youth- community connections, better
coordination of efforts with other town efforts to reduce duplication /fragmentation, organize
centralized Volunteer clearinghouse, design proposal for use of White House space.
