'Everything is Miscellaneous The Power of the New Digital Disorder"
with Dav dWeinberger
Knowledge is moving onto the Internet. For most of us, the Net is already the first recourse
when we're trying to learn or understand something. But, this is not just a transfer of con-
tent from books to electrons. In fact, knowledge now is taking on the properties of the Net
itself: shared, linked, messy, and containing endless disagreements. In this vast, connected
ecology, we need not only new techniques, we also need to rethink our most basic ideas about
authority and truth itself. David Weinberger is a writer, blogger, consultant and a Fellow at
Harvard's Berkman Institute for Internet & Society.

'Music and the Art of Collaboration ", with Billy Novick
Music is perhaps the most "social" of all the art forms, involving constant interaction between
people. Did you ever think about the real, practical, nuts and bolts issues of how different kinds
of music get created? Based on his own experiences, Lexington resident Billy Novick will give
you a guided tour through some of these collaborations. Part lecture, part concert (there will be
a band) and part demonstration, you will enjoy an evening that will be both informative and
fun! Billy Novick has had an active and eclectic forty-year career as a performing musician,
composer and arranger. His most recent collaboration was creating a musical score for The
Washington Ballet's original full- length version of "The Great Gatsby."
