Regie Gibson Meeting called to order at 7pm. Minutes Sept. 1013 approved Tonics Discussed • Diana South is officially going to start as treasurer • Zoe directed folks to the online job descriptions www.mass- culture.org/samples/lcc iob descrintions.doc • Grant writing workshop a success. Next year we should advertise this more to cast the nets wide and provide information to folks who don't even know of LCA grants. • We can possibly apply for an LCO grant. (A lot of pas:1Nlitics.A juricd show? Usc $ to pay a juror? Many ideas for projects to apply for. • Discussion about grants to be denied due to the fact that Munroe Ccntcr for the Arts Building is not handicapped accessible. LCO grant was applied for for local project(such as $to pay juror for juried show, etc.) An LCC can apply for up to 20%of their budget to be used for a local project it is in charge of(tho This comes out of the total grant monies from MCC) • Start a fund raising campaign for accessibility for the building was brought up with respect to the likelihood of LCO grant (above) denial based on non-accessible gallery space? Is the Munroe board already working on this? • Group reviewed the Voting Meeting Calculation form (online) • Jessie took an action item to input the applications on to the LCC site. Zoe will provide her with the site password. She will also send this password along to LCA members to review the 2012 grant reimbursements. • We must all take the test online LCC orientation on the MCC website httns //www.mass-culture.org/training.aspx • It was noted that LCA needs to get community input every three years. The last one was a 2012 spring survey at Lexington Open Studios. The time before happened at a booth at Discovery Day haps //www.mass- culture.org/communitv innut.asnx • We received all the grant applications. 20 all-together Cristina will go to PO this week to confirm if any more have arrived with 10/15 postmark &will scan these and make them available on Google Docs. • Next year it was suggested that LCA look into digitally processing all the grants applications online. Cheryl volunteered to check with MCC into which town has already done this so as to gather information for us to do the same • LCA Fundraiser Discussed planning the poetry/visual arts fundraiser Victoria to send out an email with description of Regie's experience. Initial planning meeting to take place at Lexington Arts and Crafts bldg. Tuesday, Nov 5, 7pm. Some initial ideas do a live taping of the event and sell the tape Need to check the town calendar for date availability Cheryl took an action item to get some local poets' names. • Editorial note• fundraising info online at: httns //www.mass- culture.org/fundraising.aspx • Zoe suggested bringing in a consultant to help guide LCA in its long- and short-term fundraising structure and goals • Zoe reviewed the criteria for grants, LCA members to check MCC website for guidelines Cristina developing a check-list for council use. • MCC has allocated $4250 to our LCA for this 2014 grant cycle, not including the Patron's Fund. • Suggestion to have 2014 LCA grantees participate in April 2014 Patriot's Day parade with perhaps a LCA float. • Jan 15th is the date when LCA nreconsider letters • Cristina to divvy up the grants among the LCA members for each to review New Business for Next Meeting • Diana to tell us if any 2012 grants can be redistributed for use in this 2014 grant cycle. • Agenda item for February 10, 2014 LCA meeting review any out standing 2013 grants and financially close out Feb 2013 grant cycle in order to figure out which unclaimed grants can be redistributed for use in LCA grant cycle 2015 • LCA members to present their grants for general discussion and possible approval or disapproval. Next Meeting. November 18, Munroe Center for the Arts
