Members not present Bob Tracey, co -Vice Chair; Mary Gillespie, Paul Jenkins,Sandy Podgorski, Dave Taylor. Business • The chair declared that a quorum was present. • The committee approved the minutes ofMay 1, 2013 with minor corrections. • The next meeting is June 12, 2013 • The Committee discussed the merits of sending delegates to observe and report on major parades held over the coming months, including Wellesley Day on May 19; Warwick, RI on June 15; Brookline on June 16; and Chelmsford, Wakefield, Chatham and Bristol, RI on July 4. Memorial Day 2013 • Chief Marshal: Sue Rockwell has accepted the committee's invitation to serve as Chief Marshal and is assembling her team of aides. • Clergy: Fr. Colletti is confirmed. • Timing at Munroe Cemetery is still uncertain. Time permitting, Sam Doran may be asked to speak at the ceremony on the Green, describing the process of collaboration with the VA to install headstones for the Civil War veterans. Timetable: 8:30 report at police station if going to Fire Station and Westview; 9:30 report at police station if working at the parade only; 11:00 report at the Green if working at the ceremony. Veterans Day 2013 • Veteran's Breakfast: Keilty Hall has been confirmed at the same price as last year. • The Rotary Club is interested in partnering with the committee again; Suzie will follow up. • We will use Neillio's for catering and charge $5 admission. • To ensure a smooth signup process at the Senior Center, we will encourage Veterans Services Officer Ryan Lennon to conduct a mini training session with the receptionists. • Ryan will be invited to a future meeting to offer feedback on last year's registration process in order to identify and resolve any problems. • Veteran's Day Parade: two potential candidates for Chief Marshal were offered: Sal Pace, a veteran and speech therapist at the Bowman School; and David Horton, veteran and former Principal of the Estabrook School.
