HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-11-11-TCC-veterans day program Veterans Day Parade, Monday, November 11, 2015, 10:0o am: • Groups should meet behind the Lexington Police Station no later than 9:30 am • The Parade will be a loop and step off promptly at lo:oo am from the driveway to the Hosmer House (next to the Police Station)to lay 5 wreaths at the various memorials (Cary Hall,Visitor's Center, Buckman Tavern &the Battle Green (z)) before marching back along Massachusetts Avenue to Cary Hall for Indoor Ceremonies beginning at ii:oo am. • Should the weather be inclement, the Parade will be cancelled and the Ceremonies WILL be held at 11:oo am in Cary Hall. Check the voicemail message at 781-862-0500 x708 after 12 Noon on November 10, 2013 if weather is a concern. Veterans Day Ceremonies, Monday, November 11, 2015, »:oo am: • The Ceremonies will take place in Cary Hall starting at ii:oo am and are expected to last 45 minutes. • We are excited to announce that our Chief Marshal for the Parade and Speaker at the Ceremonies will be COL Robert F. McLaughlin, US Army. Col McLaughlin is a native of Lexington and attended Adams School, Clarke Middle School and Lexington High School graduating in 1981. He received his commission as a Second Lieutenant from the ROTC program at the University of Massachusetts in 1985. His military education includes the Field Artillery Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Combined Arms Service Staff School and the Command and General Staff College. He holds a Master's Degree in Education from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Master's Degree in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. • His deployments have included: Bosnia Herzegovina under Operation Joint Forge; Operation Enduring Freedom as part of the Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa; two tours of duty as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Garrison Commander of Fort Carson, Colorado; Chief of Staff, US FORCES-Afghanistan. He is currently serving as the Chief of Staff for the Directorate of Morale, Welfare and Recreation as part of the Army's Installation Management Command at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio,Texas.
