Police Traffic Safetv Updates Fairview Ave — Resident concern: LexHab is planning on building four units on Fairview Avenue. Fairview is an unaccepted street that is being used as a shortcut to Wood Street and Old Mass Ave. It was never intended for the amount of traffic. - TSAC cannot make a recommendation at this time; resident is way ahead of the process. The plans have not gone to planning or any other committee. Maple /Mass /Pleasant — Approved for federal funding. Recommendation was the traffic sign, rotary still an option. 25% plans needs to be submitted to MASSDOT, project is moving forward looking at 2018 construction. Mason St - Parking signs / striping still outstanding, needs to go to the BOS Cedar Street— 4 -way stop still outstanding, needs to go to the BOS New Business A speed study was conducted on Winthrop Road May 31s - June 6 2013. Nothing significant was recorded, average speed 25 miles per hour. 30 miles per hour sign is efficient. The town is currently dealing with many reconstruction projects going on at the same time. The Police department is dealing with these traffic impacts the best they can. Moving traffic through major roads is the priority. Stephen Ades suggested creating a real -time map highlighting streets affected by road work and posting it on the town website. According to Dave Cannon, this would not be feasible due to lack of communication from utility companies about when/where they're working and the amount of time it takes to post to the town website. School Committee Traffic Study - TSAC members were asked to review draft and give feedback before it is finalized.
