LHS School Site Council Meeting was held June 10, 2013, from 5:00 -6:30 PM in the
LHS Guidance Conference Room, 154.
Present Ellen Hilsinger, Lisa Dahill, Bob Ruxin, Eileen Jay, Jessica Zhu, Katherine
Murphy, Laura Lasa, Nancy Shepard, Walter Richardson, Dave Wininger, Paul
Breitenfeld, Jill Smilow, Hyesung Park
L Approval of May 20 minutes
IL Introduction of New Members /Goodbye to Departing Members
A. Elect a co -chair for 2013 -2014
• Bob Ruxin will be the 2013 -2014 co -chair
III. Set Temporary Calendar for 2013 -2014 Meetings (6:00 -7:30 p.m.)
• September 16, October 21
• November 18, December 16
• January 13, February 10
• March 17, April 14
• May 19, June 16
IV. Hiring Process
• 4 -5 hires remain for teaching positions
• Jacalyn Crowe has been appointed the new Science Department Head
• Nicole Canniff has been appointed as a Dean
V. Dialogue on Course Levels
• This will be an on -going discussion over the course of next year
• Articulation of expectations for course levels is important
• Independence and responsibility play a significant role in success at
higher levels (habits of mind)
