Minutes — September 18, 2012
Prepared by Massport Staff
1. August Meeting: The meeting was called to order by Jeanne Krieger. The July
Minutes were approved by the group.
2. Monthly Noise Report: Sharon Williams presented the July and August noise
reports and in response to questions noted that:
• The noise impact related to Streamline terminating service will be minimal due to
the number of operations and type of aircraft.
• The DOT reported over 10,000 enplanements for Hanscom in 2011, which
qualifies Massport for federal airport improvement funds.
3. Monthly Capital Programs and Third Party Development Reports: Dorothy
Steele presented the August capital programs and development reports and in
response to questions noted that:
• The location of the proposed Edge Sports development is adjacent to the existing
Edge Sports complex on Hartwell Road in Bedford. The proposed structure
"bubble" covers a turf soccer field in the winter only and is removed during the
other seasons.
• Conceptual plans for the proposed aviation museum include meeting space but
the project has not been presented as a conference center.
• HFAC members requested a meeting with Representative Kaufman and the new
Massport CEO.
• There have been no discussions with cargo or commercial air operators.
• Massport will invite representatives from the environmental department to a
future HFAC meeting to discuss the proposed Storm water Modeling Project.
• To date there has not been any communication for HATS regarding the
Environmental Sub - committee's participation in the Hanscom Field 2012 ESPR
process.
• Streamline discontinued service between Bedford and Trenton due to a business
decision. Streamline continues to provide service at other locations.
