Hanscom Field Advisory Commission
Minutes May 17, 2011

1. Introductions:
The meeting was called to order by Jeanne Krieger. Attendees introduced
themselves. The March minutes were reviewed.
2. Streamline Questions:
HFAC requested that additional information about the Streamline
operation be presented to the Commission on June 14, one week prior to the June meeting.
Dorothy Steele noted that Massport will inform Streamline quest. Anne Frymer, a
Lexington resident, asked three questions that D. Steele will also present to Streamline. The
questions are:
1. Are there any American Disability Act (ADA) requirements Streamline must meet?
2. Does ADA require that Streamline have wheelchair access to their aircraft?
3. Do Streamline aircraft have a lift mechanism to get wheelchairs on board?
3. Monthly Noise Report:
Sharon Williams presented the March noise report and in response to
questions noted that:
There was increased Stage 3 day and night activity, but fewer Stage 2 activity compared
to March 2010.
The noise monitors are calibrated by a technician every two years, as directed by the
manufacturer of the monitors. The monitors self calibrate every 6 hours.
The new system to collect aircraft operations data is on schedule to be completed by the
end of summer 2011.

4. Dorothy
Steele presented the reports.
The USDA has started to trap beavers and remove dams in accordance with the Order of
Conditions from the Concord and Bedford Conservation Commissions.
Massport cleared and improved the trail system on Massport property (abutting Bedford
conservation land) and is currently working to finalize the creation of a connecting trail
system that will originating in Concord at the Gaining Ground site and connect to the
Bedford trail network. All groups will work together to communicate this new trail
system for the public to access and enjoy.
Massport plans to report passenger and flight information from Streamline to HFAC; as
done with Linear Air, in the monthly
th
HFAC/Noise report. Streamline commenced operations on April 4. Details on
operations and passenger counts will be presented next month but preliminerary data
shows they emplaned approximately 145 passengers from 38 departures.
Massport has not had discussions with scheduled commercial or cargo operators.
4. HFAC Membership:
J. Krieger informed the group that Lexington, Concord and Lincoln
Boards of Selectmen have approved the proposed HFAC membership slate; they are awaiting
approvals from Bedford.
