New business 11 1 A. 2012 -2013 School Improvement Plan - Feedback • Review current SIP in April/May • New SIP drafted in May 2013 • A concern was raised about the `if- -then' format: Does this frame an achievable goal? (district format) o we need to develop accurate implementation steps (measured) Goal 2: Administration/Technology (reviewed at the meeting) • An LHS goal, not a district goal; in third year: should it be maintained? Parent Feedback • Definite progress in technology: teacher websites, Aspen portal coordination/consistency between Aspen and website • Technology is a good communication tool - is it related to student measuring student achievement within the SIP? • Technology goal is mostly accomplished; • Increased home - school communication should continue to be a school -wide goal, but it may not need to be in the SIP Teacher Feedback • Definite growth in school, concern of parent access and standardizing teacher websites (different methods of implementation and assessment exist) • Original concern of teachers not wanting to spend time on websites but it's been successful due to implementation and use by students o Goal has not been completely achieved; remain a school -wide goal Student Feedback • Implementation steps should be more constructive • Goal should remain • Teacher websites going well for the most part, sometimes phrasing can be confusing • Access to full year plan for the curriculum is very helpful • School website is fantastic but student access /use needs to be encouraged • Place steps under Goal 1 of Instruction B. Suggestions for the 2013 -2014 School Improvement Plan • Significant progress with tweaking implementation/assessment steps • AP courses /leveling: balance rather than grades /academics included C.
