May 24 - -- 28 visit from Antony Officials
a) Guests - -- Updates on guests via spreadsheet Dawn provided. She is sending same spreadsheet to Pascale for the visitors
to fill in showing their choices for attendance at various events.
b) Itinerary - -- More discussion of options. Dawn made changes to previous draft based on feedback from Pascale, and we are
on 3 rd Draft now. Discussion to be continued at next meeting.
c) Antony Park dedication and picnic - -- Work continues on the "picnic piece" of that Monday. As to music, discussion of Jeff
Leonard and his group, or Berkeley School of Music - -- Dawn will check into. Need decision on caterer (perhaps Wilson
Farm? Jackson's Kitchen? and also on "Plan B" location if weather does not cooperate. Need to verify with Kevin McGuire
on use of his space in Lexington Center for Saturday night dinner. Trisha Kennealy is sending proposal for that Saturday
dinner. (If not Kevin's, perhaps Cary Hall? Dawn will check into both places.)
d) Gifts - -- Gifts will be exchanged on Saturday night only, by agreement of both groups. Talk of how many "bags" - -- one to
each person; if a couple, one to the couple - -- equaling 10 bags or containers of some sort. Dawn and Maureen planned to
get together and scope out gifts, with a 300 theme in mind. Kitty showed 3 Town Trading Cards for the 300 and will
check at Town Hall about possibility of acquiring some (or maybe complete sets ?), for the 10 gift bags.
e) Item for time capsule - -- Dawn has discussed with Sue Rockwell that the Antony officials are bringing a medal to put in. We
will supply a small version of the full color Antony Park Plan, plus a French /American pin.
f) Other related information - -- We have approximately $5000 raised from A French A Faire for expenses over the weekend:
bus into Logan on Friday and again on Tuesday; bus for Boston tour on Saturday morning; Welcome Dinner on Saturday
night - -- gift bags; food, drinks, location; bus for trip on Sunday to Gloucester for whale watching; Monday Memorial Day
picnic after "ground breaking" at Antony Park - -- food, drinks, music, secondary location if needed; Tuesday Farewell
"brunch /luncheon" (Time: TBD) - -- food and location at Vine Brook Tavern. It was confirmed that our group would pay their
expenses for each event as previously so the money will be spent on Antony guests.
Discovery Day - -- Colin, Kerry and Tony volunteered to help with set -up on Discovery Day. We (in the Antony Working Group) should
let all of our friends and acquaintances know that the visitors from Antony will be at the Discovery Day Sister City Tent to greet
Lexington residents from 1 to 3 PM.

a) Project update - - -The trees HAD arrived already. But on the day they came, the town arborist consulted with Dawn about
their condition (bugs and windburn) and had to reject the load. It was expected that next week digging would begin for the
water and electric lines. Dave Pinsonneault has been extremely helpful with this. There have been problems with the
bidding and contract award. It was agreed we would be flexible with the ceremony. Depending on the progress by the
time they arrive, it might become a ground- breaking ceremony. Decisions will be made at next meeting.
b) Donation updates - -- Need to continue to work on donations. 5 trees sold so far, 9 to go. This will help get us to the $75k
target.
c) Art sale - -- Kerry is working on descriptions and setting prices.
d) Direct solicitation - -- Some individuals will be contacted personally. Several of those present volunteered to do so.
Additional Information - -- Cathy Sullivan brought up the display of books sent to Lexington by French students. The Board of
Selectmen will formally accept the gift at their meeting on May 20 Cary Library will have an Antony book display over Memorial
Day weekend from their collection and Antony donations.
Minutes - - -on motion duly made and seconded, the "as amended" Minutes from the meeting of May 2, 2013 were approved.
Next Regular Meetings - -- Tuesday, May 21 at 7:00 PM; Tuesday, June 18 at 7:00 PM.
Respectfully submitted, Maureen Poole
