Approval of January 8 th Meeting Minutes
The committee did not have any comments or concerns. The motion to approve the
November 13 TSAC meeting minutes was passed unanimously.
TSAC Website Update with FAQs
A link is needed for FAQs. Captain Ferro and Lt. Mazerall will look at samples from other
towns and generate a list, totaling no more than 10 questions. Captain Ferro will bring list to
next meeting to review with committee.
Flowchart link:
Would like to have this link read TSAC Process, as the same process is adopted for both
traffic calming and non - traffic calming issues. Committee to review flowchart at the next
meeting before any changes are made to the website.
Traffic Calming Requests:
It was felt that the wording should read Traffic Safety Requests. Jeannette has volunteered
to take on this task.
Traffic Safety Form:
Looking to try and find a different way to receive these forms which would be more efficient.
One possibility would be receiving them electronically via email. Committee needs to look
into this further.

talkedaPolice Traffic Safety Updates
• Sherman (a)- Grant There are no white edge lines to visually direct cars as they
approach this intersection on Grant and turn right onto Sherman. HWY can put a
white edge line to define road. Timeline would be spring (April or May.)
• Diamond Middle School: The bush is on private property and has been trimmed
back. The committee unanimously approved advance pedestrian signs to notify
drivers what's ahead. Road construction is years down the road but Dave said
that this could be a temporary measure until changes can be made.
• Waltham (a) Mass Ave: Crosswalk light button used to light up /sound when
pushed, nothing happens now. Dave will check buttons at traffic light.
• Hastings Rd between Mass Ave and Lincoln St: Left over from previous meeting;
the issue of cut - through traffic and speeding has been put to rest as construction
in the area is now complete. Hastings Rd was used to detour traffic during
construction.
Update on Mass Ave (3 Intersections) Project
Maple St @ Mass Ave; Temporary improvements: MassDOT did a roadway safety audit and
recommended stop sign for left turns and yield sign for right turns. Dave will bring to
selectman.
Update on Blake Road (4 Way Stop): Counts were taken, not one vehicle over speed limit,
volume low and data does not support a sign. Lt. Mazerall will get back to person.
