HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013-03-05-CPC-minMinutes of the Community Preservation Committee Tuesday, March 5, 2013 2:00 pm, Parker Room Town Office Building, 1625 Massachusetts Avenue Present: Committee Members: Marilyn Fenollosa, Chair; Joel Adler, Norman Cohen, Jeanne Krieger, Leo McSweeney, Bob Pressman, Sandra Shaw, and Dick Wolk. Administrative Assistant: Nathalie Rice Also in attendance was David Kanter of the Capital Expenditures Committee (CEC). The meeting was called to order at 2:03 pm. by Ms. Fenollosa. 1. Approval of Minutes — The minutes of the meeting of February 20, 2012 were approved as submitted with a vote of (8 -0). 2. Updates and Verification of Final Votes on Project Applications a.) Visitor Center — Design Phase — The CPC discussed this project in light of the Board of Selectmen's vote on February 25 to accept the Town budget as submitted by the Town Manager. The budget did not include tax levy funding for the Visitor Center project, necessary to complete the non -CPA eligible portion of the project. In light of the unavailability of sufficient funding to complete the Visitor Center project, the CPC voted (8 -0) to indefinitely postpone its requested share of the project. This vote came after a previous vote on February 20 in which the CPC voted (7 -2) not to oppose a Selectmen vote to indefinitely postpone the project. 3. Executive Session. At 2:15 pm, upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was voted by roll call (8 -0) to go into Executive Session under Exemption 6 to consider the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property and to reconvene in Open Session; the Chair declaring that an Open Meeting might have a detrimental effect on the negotiating position of the Town. The Committee returned to Open Session at 3:30 pm for the purposes of adjourning the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 pm.
