Members present— Lynne Wilson, acting Chair, Brian Kelley, Bob Pressman
Others present —Wendy Rudner, Recreation, Vanessa Tropeano, Parterre, Wesley Wirth, Landscape
Architect, Miles Connors, Parterre
Lynne opened the meeting at 4:35. Minutes from November 29, 2012, and from March 21, 2013 were
read and accepted.
Wes Wirth reported that we have received 30 blue spruce trees from the Town that will be planted in
three locations. He will need water and will ask Chris Filadora about turning on the water.
Parterre will be on location every other Tuesday. May 7 would be the best day for the planting.
Miles reported that the cherry trees on Worthen Road are diseased. They need thinning, pruning and
treatment.
Granite Forest Wes still has not received an estimate from Mark McCullough. When he gets it, he will
email it to all.
Signage — Wes has a quote from Fossil Graphics - $1200 per sign and stand. We will need holes and
concrete for installation. He asked the committee to read the text and get back to him as soon as
possible.
Vanessa told the group that she has distributed some of our brochures, and that we need a data base to
notify people of what is happening or in bloom. Patch would be an option as would be the Town's
website. We could add images. Wendy will talk to Karen Simmons, Recreation, and email Wesley. This
would give people about 5 times to visit starting when the azaleas and crabapples are in bloom.
She showed plant lists which would give color from spring until fall. She wanted to add about 50 bare
root birch. She will get back to the group with costs.
Mlles said that he would like to take down some Norway maples and spray the onion grass. He will call
Karen Mullins, Conservation, about the grass.
Wes said that the drainage along the cart path continues to be an issue. The path along Worthen Road
needs to be widened. He will get an estimate from Bob Barnard.
Bathrooms — Brian Kelley reported that construction was going well and within budget. Hopefully, they
will be completed by July 4.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:40 pm.
Respectfully submitted,
