Re: 482 Bedford Street, Lexington, MA
Sign application — Boston Children's at Lexington and Beth Israel Deaconess HeathCare Lexington
The DAC reviewed the proposed signage package dated March 22, 2013 and had the following comments.
Primary Entrance sign:
1. Because of the safety issues and nature of the facility the DAC approves of the new sign design, size and
location.
2. The DAC typically does not approve internally lit signs but agreed that the proposed halo lighting is an
acceptable solution for this application.
3. The DAC commented that the sign should only be illuminated during regular business hours as allowed by
the current sign bylaw.
4. The DAC encourages the applicant to provide supplemental signage to discourage illegal left turning into
the property. Reconfiguration of the driveway entrance geometry off Bedford Street would also help
prevent illegal turning.
Secondary Entrance Sign:
1. The DAC approves of the new sign design, size and location.
Building Entrance Sign:
1. The DAC approves of the new sign design, size and location.
Trailblazer sign:
1. The DAC approves of the new sign design, size and location.
The Design Advisory Committee recommends this project be approved.
Respectfully submitted,
