interviewing 30 Asian Americans serving on Town Boards /Committees and Parent Teacher Associations/
Organizations. He said there are two aspects to the interview. The participant first receives a consent letter,
a demographic questionnaire and a more general questionnaire regarding their involvement in Town.
Secondly, a member of the subcommittee interviews the participant. Dan said there are a variety of
questions, including:
• How the participant got started in Town • Benefits of participating in Town affairs;

He said the subcommittee's goal is to finish the interviews by the end of March and the whole report by

He said he would like to consider entering this project in the Massachusetts Municipal Association's

doesn't have any results yet. The Committee agreed.
Discussed community survey: Dan said 878 people have responded to the survey, which is
approximately 4% of residents in Lexington over the age of 18. He distributed two graphs (attached), one
being the age distribution of respondents and the other being race of the respondents. Dan said Chinese

Committee should reach out to the Chinese American Association of Lexington and the Senior Center.
