Length of Term: 3 years full; 1 year subcommittee

Meeting Times: Usually every other week except weekly March and April
Description The Committee is charged with planning and carrying out the proper observance of Patriots Day and
all such holidays and special events as the Board of Selectmen may designate from time to time.
Criteria for Membership The Town Celebrations Committee should include people who:
• Have specific knowledge of Lexington's history and historic celebrations
• Represent Lexington's newer citizens
• Have good working relations with the Lexington Minute Men
• Work well with others

Increase Subcommittee membership to 15; adopted by Selectmen on July 12, 1999
Selectmen designated as Special Municipal Employees on April 24, 1963.
Selectmen reaffirmed designation as Special Municipal Employees on January 18, 2006.
Selected voted on August 28, 2006 to remove term limits.
Selectmen voted to increase full Committee membership from 9 to 11 on September 20, 2010.
