Meeting Minutes
March 2, 2012
Present: Bob Kent, Linda Vine, Michael McLean, Emily Lavine, Puran Dang, Bonnie
Brodner, Fuang -Ping Huang, Melissa Buttaro
Meeting was called to order at 8:00 am.

December 2, 2011 minutes were approved as mailed
Police Department Report — Lt. McLean; the Dept is creating a Diversity Group to
conduct diversity training in order to better understand the different cultures and to serve
the different ethnic groups in town. The Dept is also recruiting volunteers to join the
Diversity Group /Training.
The police department routinely tracks the activity of hate groups that tend to visit
Lexington.
School Staff Report — Melissa Buttaro; LHS had a successful Waltham House
fundraising. LHS will observe the annual Day of Silence in April. There was a possible
hate sign posted at LHS which was removed.
Town Manager's Office - Linda Vine; Customer Service Training is being designed
that will focus on working with a diverse resident population. All departments will
participate including front line service staff, seasonal employees, town volunteers and
elections workers. The town will offer this training to approximately 400 + individuals.
The retreat and program planning is postponed to next meeting until Al Zabin can attend.
Puran Dang will invite Koren Stembridge to the next meeting to discuss the various
programs being offered at Cary Memorial Library
The meeting adjourned at 8:30 am. Next meeting date is to be determined.
