Elizabeth Coons, John Lahiff, Natalia Pronchick, and Nick Fusco for
participating in Valentines Day at the senior center! Handing out carnations
was a big success and hopefully we can do it again next year!
2. Cotting School Visit: This year the Cotting School Visit will be held on
Friday, March 22nd. In the past we have built life packs for the Waltham
Homeless Shelter, however this year we will be creating Birthday in a Box.
For Birthday in a Box, LYC students and Cotting School students will work as
a team to create fun boxes filled with party materials to be used for a
deserving child's birthday party in the Waltham Homeless Shelter. The boxes
will include things such as streamers, balloons, candles, and party favors.
This is the most rewarding event at LYC, and the kids at the Cotting School
really enjoy our visit!
3. Cotting School Book Drive: As always, we will be continuing the Cotting
School Book Drive. The purpose of this Book Drive is to collect a surplus of
books for the students at Cotting School to catalog for Amazon. This process
helps to build working skills gives thekids a good experience that will help
them with jobs after high school.
4. The Float! The first meeting for the float will be held on Sunday, March 10th
at 5:00PM at Peter Kelley's house, 24 Forest Street in Lexington. All members
of the core group for the float are expected to be there (other members of
LYC are welcome to come as well!)
Our next meeting will be held March 14th, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Cary Memorial
Building in the Estabrook Room.
Respectfully Submitted,
Janelle Franklin
