ATTENDANCE: Lynnette Allen, Nimisha Astagari, Russ Bosbach, Angela Chang,
Meg Colella, Betsy Conway, Susan Ornstein, Naomi Priver, Deidre Schadler
AGENDA:
1. Defer approve minutes from Oct meeting until next meeting
2. Update on Wellness
a. yesterday "Chef of the Month" visited for staff in the afternoon, had a demo and
ate a meal
b. Harrington is piloting a program for students
3. How to bring in more multicultural ideas /activities
a. there used to be signs on the door in different languages
b. we do have "Bridge" written in different languages so can take out and display
again
c. "word of the day" in different language(s)
d. will redisplay the flag exhibit after renovations completed
e. ?a new mural in the cafeteria
i. Erin Maguire and Kristin Baranofsky are writing a minigrant to bring in an artisit
in residence
f. music, as an ongoing exposure
i. in gym class
ii. as walking to assembly
iii. parents can donate CDs
g. have parents come in to speak with ELL and teachers to understand their
perspective, expectations
h. Deidre shared that at Fiske they had a slide show put together by some students
to share with the school during assemblies about their native cultures /countries
4. Parking
a. it takes about 15 min for dismissal for car line to complete
b. issues on parking on Middleby /Prospect Hill -- blocking hydrant, narrow road
i. there will be signs, but still on town committee
c. no left turn out of parking lot at dismissal
d. do have more kids taking the bus, but not huge number
e. buses also leave around 3:30pm
f. a bit chaotic parking on the grass in the circle
i. is temporary so cannot put up signs
ii. can try perpendicular (back -in or front -in) so not some parallel park and others
perpendicular
iii. Meg to send out notice in next Bridge -to -Home
