Dear Mr. Jaquith:
As you may know, the Town of Lexington is currently in the process
of replacing the flag pole on the Lexington Battle Green.
A major portion of this project is the removal of the foundation
of the existing pole and the installation of a new foundation which is
compatible with the new pole.
In order to successfully accomplish this task, excavation of the
Battle Green at the flag pole location is necessary.
This letter is written to inform you that this work will commence
shortly. Should you wish to have a representative on the site during
the work, or should you wish to discuss this matter in greater detail,
please contact Mr. Peter M. Chalpin, Senior Engineer, at 862 -0500,
extension 74.
As of this date, we do not have a firm schedule for the start of
the work, the contractor's overall workload being uncertain. However,
we expect to have the starting date fixed within the next few days, at
which time we will contact you via telephone.
