Currently flexible fiberglass posts are being used to separate the bus stop from the flow of traffic. Unfortunately the posts are repeatedly removed and /or destroyed. This results in a safety hazard which must be addressed Immediately. I am presently considering a wood structure that would be more substantial and, in my opinion, more attractive. Attached is some material showing wood guide posts and rails. In may be possible to use just the posts to eliminate sitting on the rails. Another suggestion is to use peices of telephone poles, with a bevelled top to discourage sitting. Your opinions on these ideas would be appreciated, or perhaps you will have an alternative suggestion. I would like to remind you that this is a safety issue which must be corrected as soon as possible. Further, any costs involved must come out of our current budget, FY 82. 'Thus, purchase arrangements must be made prior to June 30, 1982. FROM: Sara Arnold 'WOOD GUIDE RAILS SPECIES: Douglas Fir — W.C.
