-Book Drive for Cotting School: Our collection of books for the Cotting School Kids is just
getting underway. Soon there will be a box in LHS for anyone to drop off books. Panera does not
allow a box, but Sunoco, Ace, and possibly Ranc's will have a box. All the books will be
donated to the Cotting School Amazon account and all profits will go directly to the Cotting
School.
- Cotting School: On March 23 from loam — 11:30am we will be making our visit to the
Cotting School to make life kits with the kids and spend time with them. We want to get as many
of us as we can to go, so we can try to get one -on -one time with the kids. This is probably the
most memorable event we do so please try to make it. Our visit is extremely important to the
students. Both the students and adult appreciate our time. Team captains: contact your groups to
try and estimate the attendance.
- Valentine's Day Luncheon: We are not doing this event this year. It was cancelled earlier this
month.
- 2012 Patriots Day: We had only two sketches drawn for the meeting, but the people who were
at the meeting believe they might have a topic. To be unique, LYC has decided to go with a
beach theme. Specific details have not been decided, but a quote such as "All hands on deck" —
Sarah or "We Go to Great Depths for out Community" Derek, could be added. Brief ideas could
include: Beach Ball Tossing, Grass Skirts, Fake Fire/Marshmallows, Scuba Gear, Small
Red/White/Blue Beach Balls to give to kids, Hand -Prints on side of Float, Snorkels, Plastic
Waves, Flamingos, Palm trees and more.
If everyone could come to the next meeting with one idea about the float, that would be
fantastic.
Next meeting: March 8 th at 7 pm in ESTABROOK HALL, under the town hall building.
Please do your best to attend.

Good Morning All:
As you know we are scheduled to go to Cotting School Friday, March 23 10:00 - 11:30. The students
there are very excited about you coming to work with them. They have three classes that are going
to participate, which is 20 students. The staff at Cotting would like one on one if possible to work
with the students. There is a student with food issues, so I am sorry to say no cookie deccorating,
but we will be making the life kits again as we did last year, which was a great success and very
rewarding.
As we discussed in our last meeting the Team Captains would contact all LYC members, to confirm a
list of attendees. We are in need of this list, so we can confirm and set in motion this project. The
Cotting School needs time to work with the students to get them ready. Can you contact your team
members, please speak with them directly no emails, texts, facebooks, to confirm they will attend
March 23rd. If you cannot reach someone, contact me, I will reach them to get you an answer.
We would like you to provide a list of names not number of people who are going to this event.
Please see that each Team Captain sents this list to Mrs. Durperey at kduperey @rcn.com and
myself, along with Abby and Emily. Mrs. Durperey is the Adult working with Cotting and needs to
hear from you within the next week, let's say by Tuesday, February 28th with a complete and
committed list of names. Please remember we are pushing for at least 20 LYC members.
Also remind each member of the importance of their attendance to the remaining three meetings.
Our meeting on March 8th is design and development of the Patriot's Day float; we had lots of
good ideas and info at our last meeting with a limited amount of members in attendance, and Cotting
School final update with confirmation of times, meeting place, book delivery etc. Our April meeting
will be the Parade Float Project, with dates and times for float making, sign up list for signs, etc to
be made for float, and parade participation. And finally, our last meeting in May is the island
Spring planting, and breakup Pizza Party! We need lots of help and expect everyone to participate
and attend these meetings.
