Pat Goddard: Developing a communication chain -each principal will be given a project
manual and updated throughout construction.
Timeline:
February 14: General bids were due.- A contractor has come in at bid, which includes
bid alternates.
March 1: Plans to sign contract with TLT Construction
March 15 -30:
EBI to establish baseline air quality/ On -site person that works for the town will be given
daily report of air quality- EBI is DPF's environmental consultant.
Phase 1A:
April 1: Contractors can come to work at 4 pm- they will begin work in the boiler room
area
April 16 -20 (Spring vacation)
• Ceilings in corridor and 2' into classrooms
• Abatement of asbestos insulation in tunnels below floor will be abated. Removal
of asbestos is a highly regulated protocol. There are pipes in tunnels under the
building perimeter that are wrapped in asbestos. This area will be physically
separated and a fan will collect any asbestos particles. Industrial hygienist
inspects air quality.
April 21- air clearance samples submitted for approval
April 23- school resumes operation-
work continues in interior exposed ceiling area and exterior boiler room
• evening cleanup required by contractor for clearance (by on site Lexington rep)
and the next morning by staff. Any isues will be documented for resolution
• industrial hygienist from EPI performs weekly assessments. Any measures
outside tolerance followed up with contractor for immediate resolution
• June 25 -29 move out for Phase 113 areas
Phase 1B- Contractor work two shifts
• Complete 113 phase
• August 18 move back into 113 area
Additional Points:
1. Each of the contractors had to be pre - qualified.
2. At Bowman the contractor will place staging area on pavement behind school.
3. The windows are relatively easy to install- little disruption to classroom and
will most likely be completed with phasing as the project progresses
