HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012-06-13-TAC-minTransportation Advisory Committee (TAC) Minutes — June 13, 2012 TAC Members present: Sara Arnold, Elaine Dratch, Francine Stieglitz, Sally Castleman, Bill Levison TAC Members absent: Marty Cohen, Larry Link, Peter Levy Staff: Jeanette Rebecchi, Charlotte Rodgers 1. Minutes Minutes from the April 23, 2012 TAC meeting were approved 2. Transportation Services Update a. TAC recommends that the Lexpress Family Pass is limited to two primary caregivers and children 18 and under living at the same primary address. b. 154 Lex- Connect vouchers have been sold since April c. The FYI Lexpress Schedule Epson proof was reviewed d. The new Lexpress buses will be debuted on June 27 Deb Mauger will welcome those in attendance. Free rides will be provided on July 2nd marking the first day of service under the new contract. Sara Arnold will ask the Chair of the Bicycle Committee to provide a bicycle for demonstrating how to use the new Lexpress bus racks. 3. School Transportation Update a. Elaine Dratch is the new liaison to the School Committee 4. Transportation Forum Update a. The first quarterly meeting of all relevant transportation committee chairs and staff was held in June. Bill reported back to the committee what was discussed. 5. Selectman Goal Setting a. TAC discussed and refined the goals the committee would submit to the Board of Selectmen. 6. Revision of TAC Charter a. Bill Levison and Sara Arnold prepared an updated version of the TAC Charter for review. A second draft will be brought to the next meeting with the Committee's comments incorporated. 7. Other a. Non - compliance by Lexington Place of its annual commitments to buy Lexpress tickets was discussed. b. Use of the parking facilities at the DPW building by weekend bicyclists was suggested.
