Communications Advisory Committee
10/20/2005
1. Members present: Maria Kieslich, Miriam Boucher, Dave Buczkowski, Steve
Ellis, Jeanne Canale. The represents quorum since current membership of the
committee is 9.
2. Minutes from September meeting approved as submitted
3. RCN Report – Tom Steele submitted monthly report via e-mail. He had no new
issues to report on since Sept. Meeting. Also, called our attention to an article in
the Boston Globe regarding the license agreement between Woburn and Verizon.
4. No Comcast representative present.
5. Chair’s Report
a. Discussed accounting for LexMedia
b. CAC role in LexMedia expenses approval is now over.
c. Jean Krieger is working on Palmer & Dodge expenses shown on
PEG/Cable TV accounts.
d. Tim Counihan submitted his resignation, due to job commitments
e. Town Clerk’s office will be posting committee minutes on Town web site.
6. LexMedia Report – Maria K reported on
a. Sept 9 outage and difficulties in getting prompt Comcast response
b. Interviews in progress for Executive Director
c. LexMedia’s request that all channels used for local origination should go
to studio.
7. Committee noted that RCN and Comcast payments are not reflected in accounting
statements. Unsure whether payments have not been made to Town in timely
fashion or whether this is just an internal accounting issue. Chair will pursue and
report at next meeting.
8. No Complaints for September
9. Wireless Antenna sub-committee:
a. No new wireless applications
b. CAC voted to charge wireless Antenna sub-committee to conduct
complete inventory of antennae in town.
10. CAC web site – discussed updating CAC web page. Chair will solicit
contributions from each sub-committee.
