Communications Advisory Committee Meeting

RCN
* The connection to Town Hall for the broadcast of Town Meeting is being made.
* Regarding the settlement of build out, we received 45 responses from the 655 homes
mailed. Based on citizen feedback, Jeanne indicated that the BoS would likely reject
RCN's proposal.
Comcast
* The sublease is all set with monthly rent pass through. We could stay in the studio past
June if necessary.
* The CAC wants all repairable equipment brought up to full capability; Comcast to set
up a meeting to discuss.
* Channels 8, 9, 10, 77, and 93 will be retained for PEG
* Regarding the outage, a blown fuse caused a 9 hour partial node failure to 100
subscribers. Response was 26 minutes from identification to technicians on site.
Regulation requires credits for outages of over 24 hours, but requests can be made if one
feels especially aggrieved.
LexMedia
* A CAC nominee is needed by 1 March
* There is some difficulty in attracting board candidates.
* The Town will be issuing an RFP for operation.
Complaints
* Dave related a complaint regarding the complexity of the bills.
Wireless
* Two applications were received from T Mobile. One is OK, one is being resubmitted.
Other
* Question: Should we request underground service from Verizon for their new offering?
* A request was made that documents (agenda, minutes, etc.) be embedded in the body of
email messages.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:10PM.
