Office Building, Room 111
Members Present: Ted Edson, David Kanter, Shirley Stolz, Charles Lamb (Chair)
Discussion and edits of CEC report for the Town Annual Report.
Discussion of interest in seeing 5-year planning by Lexington's Community Preservation
Committee (CPC).
The CPC has only taken informal votes on the projects likely to be presented to the 2009
Annual Town Meeting as additional information is still needed on several of them.
The lift to the Bird Room in the Cary Memorial Hall is not yet done.
SS: Stone Building is a different kind of space than the Hancock-Clarke house. Elevator,
meeting room; not just a place to visit. Is square-footage comparison an accurate way of
evaluating this?
Discussion of funding "all items" under the Community Preservation Act (CPA) versus
only large preservation proj ects.
DK: In general, everything that can be funded should be. We can accumulate cash if
there's a plan on how to use it.
TE: Case-by-case basis, but never wants to bond with CPA.
SS: Also evaluate on a case-by-case basis.
Discussion ofpriority-capital spread sheet.
Adjourn: 10:20 am
Approved: February 4, 2009
