Appropriation Committee Minutes

Committee members: A. Levine, D. Brown, J. Bartenstein, R. Pawliczek, P. Hamburger,
E. Michelson, R. Eurich
Staff: M. Young, S. English
Other attendees: T. Griffiths
* Motion of chair (A. Levine) and vice chair (D. Brown) - unanimous.
* Discussion regarding Town Manager resignation and search committee.
* Deborah Brown will act as liaison to the committee to pick an Acting Town Manager.
* Discussed process for FY06 budget, BOS goal setting, and SBA reimbursement.
* EM suggested that the Committee write a letter to the Board of Selectmen outlining the
Committee's thoughts on the budgeting process.
* Comptroller (S. English) and staff (M. Young) gave a report. The Cherry Sheet came
in with $100K more than projected. More information is needed from the State about the
revised SBA (School Building Assistance program). The FY2004 snow & ice budget
came in with a $182K deficit. Local receipts were about $300K short.
* Discussed open meeting law.
* Motion to adjourn - unanimous.
