CEC minutes - 27 February 2001 (draft)
The meeting was called to order at 7:39 PM by the chairman.
Members Tom Griffths (TG), Shirley Stolz (SS), Narain Bhatia (NB), and
Charles Hornig (CH) were present. We were joined by Deborah Brown
(Appropriations).
The minutes of the meetings of 6 February and 8 February (the non-joint
part) were approved.
Art. 8a (Buildings): NB will investigate Fire electrical work and what
the facilities study will do. Art. 8d (Pine Meadows): We have an issue
with the size of the request. Will the club building be redone in
FY2004? SS will do more investigation. Art. 8h (Playgrounds): We
support paying for this from the tax levy. (3-0) Art. 8j (Printing
Equipment): GB will clarify the source of funds for repaying the debt.
Art. 13: GB will investigate the need for the portables. Art. 14
(Trees): We need to receive a presentation on this. Art. 15 (Library):
We except bids to be opened 1 May. We will meet on 3 May to discuss our
position. Art. 16 (Unused Borrowing): We approve. Art. 22 (Rockville
Ave.): Why? CH will investigate. Art. 23 (Wright Farm): Discussions are
active. We need a full briefing at least 2 weeks before this is
presented to Town Meeting. We would prefer to put it off to the fall.
CH to follow up. Art. 24 (Harrington Driveway): Approve if $0. Art. 25
(Follen & Marrett): SS will investigate.
The FY2005 ambulance should be increased to $173,800 to reflect the new
heavy-duty ambulance.
Storm drains seem to have mysteriously disappeared from the budget.
