Members Tom Griffths (TG), George Burnell (GB), Narain Bhatia (NB), Shirley Stolz (SS), and Charles Hornig (CH) were present. David Charbonneau appeared to discuss the big-ticket road article. The program is for $7M. It covers all streets except arterials in 4 years. There are 3 levels: maintenance, structural resurfacing, and reconstruction. Phil Hamilton of the Conservation Commission told us that Wright Farm won't be ready in the fall. At 8:14 PM NB & SS moved to go into executive session for 30 minutes to discuss land acquisition. CH, TG, NB, & SS voted yes. GB abstained. At 8:40 PM the committee returned to open session. TG and GB are pushing a new 2-2-2 school plan. MOTION: ELem. school phase 1 should go forward this fall with 2 or 4 schools. MOTION: We oppose opeion 3C. Dates: SC Public Hearing: 9/10 Selectmen/ SC: 9/13 Summit: 9/20 Organization: TG was elected chairman. SS was elected vice-chairman. GB and NB will share the roleofclerk. Assignments: GB: Schools NB: DPW, Public Education CH: DPW, Policy TG: Selectmen SS: Conservation, Fire, Library, Recreation, COA, Other Undergrounding: MOTION: Committee does not want to consider undergrounding until the school project is done.
