Agenda Minutes September 10, 2012
Lexington Arts and Crafts Society
Present: Zoe Perry Wood, Chair; Jan Gopelrud; Victoria Campos, secretary; Emily
Passman; Reggie Gibson; Chris Kyle, Treasurer; and Liz Lemont, guest.
Absent: Jackie Hawkinson; Diamond Hayes; and Meg Landers.
Zoe called the meeting to order at 7:20pm.
Chris made a motion to accept Jan. minutes; Approved.
Topics Discussed:
• Zoe missing March and May 2012 minutes; secretary absent during those
meetings. Victoria to follow up in an email.
• Treasurer's Report: Chris met with Lex Town treasurer today to fulfill MCC
requirements for a meeting between LCA and Municipal fiscal officer in
sept.to go over funding cycle. All these .amounts have to be reconciled
• Chris went over the amounts disbursed to 2011 (All except Robotics, whose
money of $300 will revert to 2012 -13 grant cycle)
• Of our 2012 grantees, only two - -Open Studios and John Root, have submitted
their requests for reimbursement.
• Council divvied up the grantees in order to send them reminder emails of the
Feb. 6. 2013 deadline:

Council reviewed Edwin Huberdeau's application to be on the LCA. Zoe to
contact him.
Discussed Gallery at Munroe
+ as a location for holding an LCA juried group arts show and cash bar as a
venue for fundraising for the LCA; Friends of the Munroe Center for the Arts
to contact (Reggie to reach out to Tom Griffiths, Denise Rickets, Merrill
Meadow, Dan Fenn); artists could volunteer to gallery -sit.
+ put forward a proposal to the Munroe Board that the LCA take over the
running of the gallery
• Lexington 300th Anniversary Celebration: Zoe to photograph participants at
Munroe Center
• Zoe to add the Call for 2013 Grant Applications on the LCA website
• Jan to write up a paragraph calling fro new members; paragraph to be
included on the LCA website
• Discussed Gallery at Munroe
+ as a location for holding an LCA juried group arts show and cash bar as a
venue for fundraising for the LCA; Friends of the Munroe Center for the Arts
New Business:
Review Surveys taken during the LOS;
Artists' talks at Cary Memorial Library; LCA wants to coordinate with Cary to
put forward local artists
