Additional seating opportunities, companion seating for the disabled, and site improvements enhance the pedestrian experience along the north side sidewalk. Cohesive sidewalk treatment from Meriam Street west to Woburn Street defines the Town Center- sidewalk paving, site furniture, roadway and pedestrian lighting. New planters and new trees improve sidewalk environment. “Bicycle boxes”, additional bike racks in Center, and additional points of access from the Minuteman Trail improve the bicyclist experience. Traffic merging and vehicular boundaries are clearly defined with flush median. Woburn Street gateway reduces confusion at that intersection and is attractive element approaching from the east. On-street parking counts are maintained or slightly increased with reorganized layout. 6 December 6, 2011 – Recommended Concept Plan 7 Meriam Street east to Depot Square 8 Depot Square east to Edison Way 9 Seating and Gathering Opportunities 10 Seating Area and Typical Sidewalk Treatment 11 Edison Way east to Town Offices 12 Mass Ave at Grant Street Looking East- Existing 13 Mass Ave at Grant Street Looking West- Proposed 14 Town Offices Area 15 Woburn Street Intersection 16 Woburn Street Intersection Looking West- Existing Woburn Street Intersection Looking West- Proposed Fletcher Ave Fletcher Ave Mass Ave Mass Ave 17 Estimated Parking Counts with Current Plan Existing Parking Spaces Along Mass Ave: 99+/- Parking Spaces Along Mass Ave with Revised Layout: 102+/- 18 Questions 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 5th Public Workshop- Materials 28 5th Public Workshop- Site Elements 29 5th Public Workshop- Site Elements 30 Option B 31 Option C 32 Option D 33 Option E 34 May 18th, 2011 Concept Plan – 3rd Public Workshop Concept A 35 Concept B 36 Concept C 37 May 25, 2011 Concept Plan – 4th Public Workshop Concept A 38 Concept B 39 Concept C 40 October 20, 2011 – 5th Public Workshop 41 Concept A 42 Concept B 43 Concept C 44 Existing Street Conditions 45 Proposed Treatment Option 46 Proposed Treatment Option 47 Proposed Treatment Option 48 Proposed Treatment Perspective 49 Woburn Street Intersection 50
