HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-02-04-ARTS-min Lexington Council for the Arts Minutes for Meeting of February 4, 2008 Room 111, Town Office Building Present: Barbara Ciampa, Chair; Louise Cady-Fernandes; Sirarpi Heghinian Walzser;Jan Goplerud;; Bill Janowitz, Janet Post, Secretary;Jonathan Cue; Myron Rosenblum; Jackie Hawkinson Absent: Mary Trometer,Treasurer; Zoe Perry-Wood Call to Order Chair Barbara Ciampa called the meeting to order at 7:10 PM Secretary's Report The minutes for the January 7th meeting were accepted. Treasurer's Report There is a balance of $9539.82 in the treasury. The treasurer's report was accepted. We have not received the annual money from MCC yet. Acceptance letters went out to grant applicants last Friday. Grant Business: We are up to date with the grant process. The grant money arrives in mid to late January. Approval letters will go out. New Business: -Myron will touch base with the town about keeping us updated about the artwork in town hall and what they have decided to do with it. -All current board members will continue on in their current positions with the exception of Barbara, our current Chair. A meeting will be held in March to discuss Barbara carrying on in a new roll as co-chair potentially with Zoe Perry-Wood. -Grant sub-committee members will meet to discuss guidelines for the application process in the spring. -Mass Poetry Outreach program is looking for poets to submit work. th -There will be 4-5 board members attending the March 12 gathering at the state house for the MCC and trip the ICA after lunch. -Board discussed how to carry on from here with raising funds for the Patron’s Fund. One idea is to first start an artist registry so that we can create a listing of local artists in hope of creating more of an artist’s community. During the next month board members will research websites that might be appropriate for the registry and look into getting an estimate for a site. -Sirarpi updated us on Art Walk, which will held in May for 2 weeks. It includes Memorial Day weekend and Lexington’s Discovery Day. Business for Next Meeting Website Adjournment - The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 PM.
