Grant Business:
Requests for reimbursement of last year’s money have been completed. We have begun to send
out checks for this year’s money.
New Business:
Myron will continue to keep us informed about the town hall artwork decisions.
· Barbara and Zoe will take turns chairing our meetings each month.
th
· Louise updated the group about the MCC gathering at the state house on March 12.
· Janet has put our LCA letterhead and envelopes up in the selectman’s office for anyone
from our council that might need them.
· The grant planning sub-committee members now include Mary, Janet, Jackie, and Zoe, if
the meetings can be held at night. Janet will lead the sub-committee. It was discussed how soon
in the year to post our flyer about the availability of funds. The consensus was the earlier the
better to give the public ample time to apply for grants. It was suggested to alert the public via
the Lexington Minuteman that they may come to our Discovery Day booth to receive
information about applying for a grant and also information on how to get help in writing one.
· Janet updated us on Art Walk and the Art hunt that our council is sponsoring. The Art
Hunt planning sub-committee consists of Janet, Mary, Jan and Louise. The first step in planning
the Art Hunt is to review the artwork that is going to be on display. Janet will find out what date
this is.
· The website committee met earlier this evening and Sirarpi updated us on plans for our site
that includes a listing of all the different art groups in Lexington, an events page, and a Paton’s
Fund page. Hopefully the groups that we will link to will also link to us. Sirarpi estimates the
website to cost about $250 per page (we need 6 pages) plus domain name/hosting which is $100
a year. It was voted to pay for the cost of it out of the Paton’s Fund and Sirarpi will do the work
on the site. The website committee will meet again next month one hour before our regular
monthly meeting.
th
· The year 2013 is the 300 anniversary of Lexington and our council will plan something in
celebration of this town wide celebration
Business for Next Meeting
th
· Discovery Day is Saturday May 24 of Memorial Day weekend and we will have a table
at it again this year that we need to schedule members for.
· The Dimmock Award
· Art Hunt
· Website update
