Absent Tom Griffiths, Charles Hornig, Paul Lapointe
We began by reading through the list of sites from the Senior Center Siting Committee
Report of April 2, 2001 We identified which of the sites are ones we can consider as
possible sites Left on the list for now.
• Lowell St.
• Meriam St.
• Waldorf School
• Harrington (old) School
• Munroe Center (Shirley S produced a report on this, Lauren will reproduce it
and put it in our packets for the next meeting)
• Clarke St. Medical Building
• Worthen Rd (Duke will take a look at it This is controlled by the School
Committee)
• Muzzey playing field
There was much discussion about sites removed from consideration and sites remaining,
as well as wondering about other places in town that are not currently being considered.
What kind of information do we need to keep (or put) a site on the list, or to take one off?
We will all think about this and email our thoughts to Lauren by Thursday
Richard passed out a submission that went to Belmont Town Meeting about the proposed
Senior Center, and a floor plan. It passed! Friends of COA in Belmont raised $1 million
of the $6 million needed.
