Minutes for Meeting August 25, 2008

Present: Barbara Ciampa, Co-Chair; Louise Cady-Fernandes, Janet Post, Secretary; Bill Janowitz,
Mary Trometer,Treasure, Jan Goplerud, George Burnell
Absent: Sirarpi Heghinian Walzser; Jonathan Cue, Zoe Perry Wood, Co-Chair; Myron
Rosenblum, Jackie Hawkinson,
Call to Order
Barbara Ciampa called the meeting to order at 7 05 PM
Secretary's Report
The minutes for the June'08 meeting were accepted
Treasurer's Report
There is a balance of$ 8767 16 in the treasury The treasurer's report was accepted
Grant Business.
Janet will be mailing the grant letter to the schools this week. Bill will also post it in the
Lexington Yahoo group, Globe northwest and the Colonial Times. Louise will post it on the
Boston Handmade website and Barbara will post one on the wall at the town hall etc and other
bulletin boards around Lexington
New Business.
The town has decided to design the websites for all town committees. Candy McLaughlin is the
point person and Mary will in touch with her for the town website posting of grants available.
On October 4th at 5 30 PM there will be a MCC/LCC reception at the National Heritage Museum
for all statewide Local Cultural Councils and local officials. A music and dance performance will
follow at 8PM We are hosting the event and we'll have a free raffle. Barbara has secured a few
gift certificates for the new hotel in town- Aloft. Louise will contact Wilson Farms about getting a
gift basket for the raffle. Barbara will also see if she can get a free ride donation on the liberty
bus and maybe a book etc. Barbara is looking into having the Fife and Drum group play for a half
hour or so MCC sent a list of legislators to be contaced, Barbara will get these mailed with a
hand note.
Discussion about several LCA members term expiration dates. Business for next meeting to be
chaired by Zoe Perry-Wood At the request of members present, the date is changed to
September 15 from September 8th
