Dave Pinsonneault reporting 1. Question raised in Town Meeting concerning Mitigation funds. None have been collected. Trees have all gone back into the properties. 10/1/01 trees 8” or greater in the set back 282 sites 186 closed out 893 trees 367 planted Approved 391 166 removed Forestry division did not have time to put together stats for this meeting. 2. Jim Wood is donating a tree for Belfry Park. Thank you Jim. 3. Four trees are being planted in Depot Square for Arbor Day: 3 elms, 1 London Plane Tree. Concerns were raised over the density of elms planned in close proximity in addition to each other and to the elms already in Emory Park. The plan is going forward. 4. Town Meeting turned down requests for $10,000 to be included in the DPW budget. Town Meeting approved Article 16, Amendments to the by law. Town Meeting approved Article 18, the formation of the Lexington Tree Program, a revolving fund for the purpose of planting, care of and tree related activities. Postpone activity on Memorial brochure until next meeting. Mechanics of revolving fund need to be worked out. Town Meeting did not approve of Article 17, $15,000 for the planting of trees. 5. Tree Inventory Phase II First Inventory needs to be cleaned up. Anne will do this. Next physical location needs to be within the areas that has already been converted to GIS files, due to budget constraints. Dave P stated. Anne will determine which streets are in the area to be covered. thth Training may be June 5 and June 12. Karen will organize these sessions. 6. Arbor Day will be 4/29/05 11:00 at Depot Square. John and David plan to attend. 7. Boston Arbor Day will be 4/21/05 at the State House. John David and Anne plan to attend. 8. East St. r/o ReLeaf only if it is an easement to conservation land and not private property 10. Memorial Tree Program Funds goes for parks, conservation land and other town lands.
