Pinsonneault, A. Senning, S. Solomon and N. Walker, J. Wood. 1. The minutes of the November 14, 2002 meeting were approved. 2. Selectmen's Breakfast (November, 22) report. [Longeteig] Phyllis Smith is the liaison between all appointed and elected committees. A tree walk was sponsored by the Newcomers Club. Recreation (Sandy Shaw) hopes to break ground on Lincoln Field by Christmas. 3. Tree Removal Reports received [Pinsonneault] Recommended that type and size of tree removed be added to the spread sheet. 4. Report for 2002 Town Report [Frey] Approved with minor additions. 5. ZBA Report on Lexington Toyota (Massachusetts Ave.) [Frey] Requesting permission to remove twelve (12) Bradford pears because fruit droppings are difficult to remove from new cars (hearing required by the Planning Board conditions 20 years ago as part of original rezoning). Recommend pruning (no overhead wires); if necessary removal of 6 trees per year with replanting of showy varieties. 6. Town Report Photo Buckman Tavern; 12:30 AM; Dec. 14. 7. Approved plan to plant ten (10) trees at Belfrey Hill and at Massachusetts Ave./Fletcher Ave. Playground. 8. Old Res Replanting Proceeding on schedule with cooperation of owner. Spruce wall of six (6) foot trees planted. Stumps covered with 6-12 inches of chips. 9. Tree Manual As Longeteig will soon be going out of town, revisions must proceed quickly. 10. 40B Plan on Lowell St. Full of loopholes. Good faith agreement necessary. Can't enforce our recommendations. 11. Lincoln Field discussion Natural vs. artificial turf. Liability issues to Town - benefits equal quick repair [Wood] Petition with almost three hundred signatures presented to Town Manager. Issues: Only one solution was presented ("Irresponsible not to look at all alternatives" [Walker]. Need to consider flooding, injuries, replacement costs, maintenance, etc. 12.
